The Long House

In the light of the Projective Cast

Aluvial Site Plan

Richard Pickler created The Long House as his thesis project at the University of Florida during 2002-2003. The project was used to create an illustrious connection between the old world architectural masters and the proficiency of modern architectural craftsmen.

The Long House thesis document covers the basic premise using a presentational style of the project and may be a good place to start understanding the impact and meaning of this effort. Several drawings offered provide a glimpse of The Long House. Some photographs of the model have been manipulated and all highlight the critical joints made possible by the focus of this considerable body of applied architectural theory.
